Cairo criminal court resumes Thursday trial of Egypt's ousted president Mohamed Morsi along with 24 codefendants over ‘insulting the country's judiciary authority', al-Bawaba News reported. Public prosecution said the defendants were captured as insulting the judicial authority through TV and radio statements, press releases as well as social media sites. The statements caused "hatred and contempt against the country's judicial system", according to the public prosecution. During a presidential speech on June 26, ousted president Mohamed Morsi accused a judge, named as Ali Mohamed Al-Nimr, of electoral fraud. Morsi, hailing from Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group, was ousted, July 2013, following mass street protests.
