The third consultative meeting of the Secretaries-General of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, and the Arab Maghreb Union, AMU, was held yesterday at the office of the OIC Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations. The meeting was attended by Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nabil Elaraby, Secretary-General of the Arab League, and Iyad Ameen Madani, Secretary-General of the OIC, alongside senior officials from the committee concerned with the preparation of the consultative sessions and a number of officials from the organisations. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways of coordinating efforts to support the Palestinian issue, as well as the latest developments in Arab countries and ways to work towards resolving the issues regarding the refugees and displaced persons in the Arab region. The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold the fourth consultative meeting of the Secretaries-General on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Arab League Summit in March 2016.
