The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reaffirmed Tuesday its support to Yemeni president Hadi's invitation for a national dialogue in Riyadh, according to OIC's Secretary General Iyad Amin Madani. Madani announced the organization's backing of Hadi's invitation to hold a national dialogue with the Houthis in Saudi Arabia, after the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) approved the request. Madani called upon all Yemeni parties to participate in the dialogue in order to find a political consensus and agreement, sparing Yemen the risks of sliding into a civil war. He praised the GCC for accepting Hadi's request and supporting the initiative, stressing on the importance of Yemen's unity, security, and stability. He explained that the OIC rejected and condemned the Houthi coup on the constitutional legitimacy of the Yemeni president and their attempts to undermine state institutions.
