President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met Saturday with President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim on the sidelines of UN's General Assembly's 70th session held in New York, Al-Bawaba News reported. The president stressed on the pivotal role played by the World Bank in the Middle East, which has been gaining more importance in recent times, as the region strives to achieve stability through development. Al-Sisi highlighted the bank's contribution to the advancement of the region not only on a humanitarian level, but also on security and stability levels, in an attempt to stop the spread of turmoil elsewhere. He pointed out that the economic reforms carried out by Egypt reflects a determination to achieve comprehensive development along with efforts to achieve security and stability, and fight corruption and poor exploitation of resources. Furthermore, he took into account the importance of jobs creation for young people, who make up nearly two-thirds of the population in Egypt. Meanwhile, the World Bank President expressed a strong support for the efforts of the economic reform made by Egypt, wishing success to the new Egyptian government in performing its tasks.
