Egypt's Ministry of Interior said Saturday in a statement three terrorist cells had been arrested in the Delta's Gharbeyha Province over planning and carrying out a series of terrorist attacks, al-Bawaba News reported. The arrestees have been in charge of targeting police personnel, judiciary elements and vital institutions in the province to create popular indignation against incumbent regime, the statement read. The detained cells, related to the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) qualitative committees, were in possession of explosives and weapons, the statement added. The statement elaborated that the detained elements were in charge of 24 terrorist attacks including two against police stations, six against pylons, six against railway stations, and an attack against a higher bridge. Since the ouster of MB president Mohamed Morsi, July 2013, a series of terrorist attacks have hit the country, claiming hundreds of lives, mostly among police and military personnel. The MB group was designated as terrorist in Sept. 2013 according to a judiciary ruling.
