Judicial sources said 198 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) affiliates were referred to military courts over terror-related charges, Al Bawaba News reported on Wednesday. The defendants, hailing from provinces of Giza and Gharbeya, face charges of planning and participating in targeting vital institutions, including 64 terrorist attacks against railway stations and electrical pylons, the sources added. Police investigations said the defendants formed, under leadership of MB senior figure Abdel Fattah Mohamed Ibrahim, qualitative committees tasked with committing terrorist attacks. The MB was listed Sept. 2013 as terrorist group following a series of terrorist attacks, mostly in the restive Sinai Peninsula, killing and wounding hundreds of civilians and security personnel.
