Egypt's police arrested six Muslim Brotherhood affiliates in Suez, eastern Cairo, over violence-related charges, Al Bawaba News reported Thursday. The detainees were planning to attack vital institutions coinciding with the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal due on Aug. 6, police said. Weapons and explosives were seized during the arrest, police added. Since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi, July 2013, affiliates of the MB group have been involved in string of deadly blasts, killing and wounding hundreds. The MB was listed as a terrorist organization in Egypt in Sept. 2013 according to a judiciary ruling.
