13 MBs arrested southern Egypt over terror-related crimes

Police arrested Wednesday 13 MB leading figures in the Upper Egypt province of Beni Sweif, two of them involved in murdering a police sergeant and wounding another, Al-Bawaba News reported.
The arrestees, who illegally possessed explosive devices and machine guns, have been involved in a series of terrorist attacks against police and military targets, police reported. They also have links to MB senior figures, currently fugitive overseas.
The detainees were given 15-day pending detention.
The MB group was enlisted Sep. 2013 as terrorist by Egypt's interim authorities following a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives among security personnel and civilians, mostly in the Sinai Peninsula.
