Egyptian authorities announced Wednesday the death of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) senior figure Mohamed Farid Ismail due to hepatic encephalopathy at the Al-Manial Hospital, Al-Bawaba News reported. Ismail, aged 58, was sentenced to seven years in prison over terror-related crimes, police sources said, adding he was pending investigations in other violence-related accusations. The deceased MB leading figure has been treated in hospital since May 3, the sources added. MB affiliates are designated as terrorists in Egypt following a string of deadly blasts claiming the lives of hundreds particularly among security personnel.
