Egypt's security forces detained Friday 39 middle-ranking members of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization over violence-related crimes, officials said. The detainees face accusations of spurring violence against state institutions and storming police stations, the officials added. The Egyptian police have launched nationwide security campaigns against MB supporters amid a string of deadly terrorist blasts claiming hundreds of lives. Hundreds of terrorist attacks have been carried out across Egypt since the ouster of former MB president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013. Police forces, arrested April 9, an MB activist for running a webpage inciting violence against military and police forces, a move dubbed as an anti-terror pre-emptive strategy.
