Security sources said they found a peculiar object, suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED), at a court in Sharqeya province, northeastern Egypt, Al Bawaba News reported. Bomb disposal experts and civil defense forces were summoned to examine the object, the sources added. A security cordon was imposed around the scene. The whole area was combed for fear of other potential threats. Since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi, July 2013, Egypt has been hit by a string of deadly blasts, mostly in the Sinai Peninsula, killing and wounding hundreds among security personnel and civilians.
