Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) exploded in Baragil village of Giza governorate, Monday, causing the collapse of three high pressure electricity towers, resulting in a blackout for several areas in Giza, Al Bawaba News reported. Security sources confirmed that six high-explosive bombs were planted underneath the towers along with TNT high-explosive substance, causing the collapse of three towers, and electricity cut-off in many areas within Giza governorate. The source added that the initial analysis of the Director of Civil Protection says that terrorists had infiltrated the nearby agricultural area and planted improvised explosive devices that were detonated with a mobile phone remotely. Security forces were deployed to the scene to scan the area for other potential threats and evidence.
