A homemade bomb exploded Friday in front of Zagazig University in Sharqia governorate, northeatern Egypt, Al Bawaba News reported. No casualties were reported. Bomb disposal officers were deployed to the blast scene to scan the area for other potential threats. Security sources said that the bomb was planted in front of the university's stadium gate, which is near a security camp. An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded early on Friday at Sphinx square in Zagazig, in front of Mobinil telecom branch, destroying two cars. Security sources said that that bomb squad found another IED in the explosion area and successfully defused it. No claims have been made for the explosions.
