U.S.-led international coalition carried out air strikes against Islamic State (IS) sites in Ramadi, Anbar province, west of the capital Baghdad causing a lot of casualties, Al Bawaba News reported Thursday. "International coalition warplanes and Iraqi aviation shelled IS sites in Ramadi and the surrounding areas," Anbar's mayor Dalaf al-Kubaisi stated to Iraqi media outlets. Al-Kubaisi added the bombing was meant to destabilize the military capabilities of the terrorist group in Iraqi vital sites. The international coalition started aerial strikes against IS positions in Aug. 2014 as the militants captured large swathes of Syria and Iraq.
