Iraqi government forces killed 30 Islamic State (IS) militants in Ramadi, capital of Al Anbar Governorate, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. Security sources said that the US-led International Military Coalition has launched several air strikes against IS hideouts in Ramadi, killing 5 IS leaders and destroying 2 military vehicles. Since 2014, Al-Anbar has been witnessing clashes between the Iraqi army and IS militants, after being occupied by the extreme group.
