Anbar military operations command announced Friday that Iraqi army has seized control of large areas of Al-Karma district in Al-Anbar province from Islamic State (IS) Jihadist group. A source from the command station said that the army with the support of Sunni tribesmen and international coalition warplanes has regained control over Al-Karma district after clashes with IS, leaving dozens dead from the terrorist group. Since 2014, Al-Anbar province has been witnessing clashes between the Iraqi army and IS militants, after being occupied by the extreme group. Last week, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced that the army and the federal police forces have succeeded in liberating Al-Baghdadi district in Al-Anbar from IS.
