U.S.-led International Coalition launched 21 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria, Al Bawaba News reported Sunday. General Lloyd Austin, commander of the U.S. Central Command said that the coalition warplanes conducted 14 airstrikes on IS sites in Iraqi cities, including Mosul, Baiji, Tal Afar and Baghdadia. He added that other seven airstrikes were carried out targeting IS fighting positions, armoured and technical vehicles, and buildings they control in Syria's Haskah and Kobani. The coalition has launched its war against IS positions in Aug. 2014.
