The U.S. military announced in a statement that the international coalition conducted 24 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) jihadist group militants in Syria and Iraq, Al Bawaba News reported Sunday. The military said that the coalition carried out 17 airstrikes on IS sites in Syria near Kobani, Raqqa, Haskah and Dir Ezzor, pointing out that the coalition destroyed many IS vehicles and fighting positions. The Syrian observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced that the U.S.-led international coalition's airstrikes in Syria killed 52 civilians including seven children. U.S. military said that there is no information confirms SOHR claims, adding that the military investigating the matter. In Iraq, the military said that launched seven airstrikes on IS sites in Baiji, Mosul, Ramadi and Fallujah, destroying many fighting positions.
