The U.S.-led international coalition carried out 19 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) sites in Iraq and Syria, Al Bawaba News reported Wednesday. "Attack, fighter, bomber and remotely piloted aircraft conducted seven airstrikes in Syria, and Attack, fighter, bomber and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 12 airstrikes in Iraq", the U.S. Defense Department said in a statement Tuesday. The statement added that the strikes targeting Syria had destroyed two IS tactical units near Al Hasakah as well as five tactical units and five fighting positions near Kobani. In Iraq, the Department stated that the coalition had destroyed two tactical units, a weapons storage facility and four crossing points near Fallujah; two tactical units, eight vehicles, three buildingsand a heavy machine gun near Kirkuk as well as a staging area near Mosul and a tactical unit near Ramadi.
