Celebrating its 6thanniversary, ALMASAR gallery located in Zamalek presents its annual group exhibition entitled "Contemporary Visions", that gathers masterpieces created by a galaxy of artists representing different art domains such as painting and sculpture. It showcases artworks by late and contemporary artists including among others Hussein Youssef, Tahiya Halim, Mounir Cannan, Samir Rafei, Mahmoud Afifi and from the third generation of pioneering Egyptian artists. And, there are a number of artists participating who are still alive and kicking such asTaha Hussein, Omar Al-Nagdi, Georges Bahgory, Mohamed Sabri. Meanwhile, the fourth generation is represented by Mohamed Abla, Hazem Taha Husseinand last but not least, artists from the fifth generation Ibrahim Al-Dessouki, Essam Maarouf, SamiAbul-Azm, Essam Darwish, Karim Al-Qoureit and Mahmoud Al-Dewehi. This week the focus is on the art ofIbrahim Al-Dessouki who belongs to the fifth generation. He managed to distinguish himself among his peers through mastering the way of mixing colours and highlighted the intensity and deepness and the degree of its transparency. He also mastered moving skillfully between the different layers of light and shade, the style of summing up the form and the method of analyzing. He gained his fame for using lines that vary between strength, violence or delicacy and softness and his unique brush strokes are unmistakable. The exhibition is continues through 18September .
