'The love of country is not manifested in talking but in hard work': El-Sisi
Field Marshal Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi urges Egyptians to work hard and be persistent in the face of the country's economic problems
Published in Ahram Online on 06 - 03 - 2014

Egypt's military chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Thursday that Egypt is facing an “extremely difficult” economic situation which poses a challenge to “providing decent medical care” to all Egyptians.
Speaking to newly graduated military physicians, Field Marshal El-Sisi said that after paying interest, servicing debts, and providing subsidies, the country's budget stands at LE165 billion ($24 billion) for all social services.
He asked doctors to “think more” of people and of the country's benefit and to "give without waiting for a return."
He also urged doctors to do more scientific research, to develop themselves and their country.
"The love of the country is not manifested in talking but in hard work, persistence and problem solving," he said.
"Problems of the countries are not solved overnight."
El-Sisi is widely expected to announce his candidacy in the presidential elections soon, and is most likely to win, given his wide popularity.
On Wednesday he said that he would not “turn his back” on the majority of Egyptians who want him to run for president, indicating an announcement is imminent.
