Ismaily will play in next season's CAF Confederation Cup after receiving confirmation from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Thursday. "The Egyptian Football Association sent an official confirmation to the club management saying we will participate in next season's CAF Confederation Cup," read a statement on the club's official website on Thursday. The Dervish had reportedly been barred from playing in the continental tournament because the domestic league in Egypt was suspended last season. Ismaily asked to play in the tournament as they finished third in the last completed premier league season in 2010-2011. The 2010-11 premier league winner Ahly and runner-up Zamalek will play in the CAF Champions League, Africa's elite competition. While third place Ismaily and Egypt Cup winner ENPPI will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
