Ismaily to appeal Confederation Cup snub Egyptian club Ismaily to lodge complaint with football association after it was not put forward to play in CAF Confederation Cup
Ismaily technical manager Sabri El-Menyawi has condemned the decision of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) not to enter the club in the CAF Confederation Cup even though they finished third in the 2010-2011 Egyptian Premier League season. "The management will lodge a complaint with EFA after it choose ENPPI not Ismaily to represent Egypt in the CAF Confederation Cup," El-Menyawi was quoted as saying on Ismaily's official website. The EFA announced Wednesday that ENPPI would play at Africa's secondary club competition. The petroleum club won the Egypt Cup in 2011 after beating Zamalek in the final. Meanwhile, Cairo giants Ahly and Zamalek were chosen to represent Egypt at next year's African Champions League.
