Ittihad Jeddah's Abd-Rabou apologises for substitution tantrum Ittihad Jeddah's Egyptian midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou says sorry to the Saudi club's management and fans for substitution outburst
Egyptian midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou has on Wednesday apologised for his angry reaction at being substituted during Ittihad's 1-0 win over Al-Qadisiyah in the Saudi League. “I apologise to club's fans, coach and management for my angry reaction during the last game. The problem is that I am not used to being substituted,” Abd-Rabou told Al-Arabiya on Wednesday. Looking furious after being replaced in the second half against Al-Qadisiyah, Abd-Rabou refused to shake the hands of his replacement before pushing an advertising hoarding on his way to the dugout. “I was satisfied with my performance during the game and I had the desire to establish myself with the team. That's why I was very sad for being substituted,” he added. ‘'I apologise because my reaction when I refused to shake the hand of my teammate was very bad and unacceptable. ‘'The coach understood what happened and he forgave me,” Abd-Rabou concluded. Abd-Rabou, who was named as the best player in Egypt's 2008 triumphant African Nations Cup campaign, joined Ittihad Jeddah in January on a six-month loan deal from Egyptian side Ismaily.
