I am ready for Ittihad's AFC clash, says Egypt's Abd-Rabou Egyptian midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou recovered from hamstring injury and is set to boost Ittihad Jeddah's midfield at AFC Champions league
Ittihad Jeddah Egyptian midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou has insisted that he is totally fit for tonight's match between the Saudi side and Bani Yas in Tuesday's AFC Champions league clash. There were fears that the 29-year-old midfielder would not be able to play in the match after suffering a hamstring strain during a league game against Ahly Jeddah, but it seems now he is ready. "I have totally recovered and I am ready for Bani Yas clash. My coach Caneda is the one who will decide whether I participate," Abd-Rabou was quoted as saying by Saudi daily newspaper Al-jazirah. "The match will not be as easy as it will be in UAE, but we are determined to win and proceed to the tournament's round of 16," he added. Abd-Rabou, who was named as the best player in Egypt's 2008 triumphant African Nations Cup campaign, joined Ittihad Jeddah in January on a six-month loan deal from Egyptian side Ismaily. After his recent outstanding performances in the Saudi league, the player whose current contract with Ismaily runs for another two seasons, has welcomed the idea of sealing a permanent move to Saudi giants by the end of the current season.
