Egypt's handball national team has qualified for the Men's Junior U21 World Championship semi-finals held in Spain on Thursday after a thrilling victory over Norway 29-27. The young Pharaohs were able to overcome their first half disadvantage 14-12 to claim the lead midway through the second half. Both sides fought to keep level until the African giants grabbed their momentum and went two points ahead in the final 10 minutes. They were able to protect their lead until the final whistle to reach the semis. This victory is theirs sixth straight victory at the competition after beating Serbia 30-29 in the quarters, Australia 44-17, Nigeria 47-30, Sweden 32-22, and South Korea 38-36 in the group stage. Egypt qualified first from the World Championship's group stage, making them the first time non European team to win all first stage matches since 2009. The Pharaohs will face in the semi final the winner from Thursday's game between France and Denmark.
