Ahly's Brazilian Junior will miss CL & Egypt Cup games New signing, striker Fabio Junior, is confirmed to be out of action from three to four weeks with an ankle injury, the club announced on Thursday
Ahly Brazilian striker Fabio Junior will undergo medical tests on Thursday to determine the extent of an ankle injury he suffered during the 2-1 friendly win over Ittihad El-Shorta. Initial scans indicated that the Brazilian will be away from the green field for more than three weeks as he strained the internal and external tendons of his ankle in the match last Monday. “Junior will undergo a rehab program according to his status,” read a statement on the club's official site by Doctor Walid Abdel-Baki who added, “The Brazilian forward won't walk on his legs as he will use crutches to recover quickly.” The 28-year-old Brazilian striker will definitely miss the CAF Champions League quarterfinals along with the Egypt Cup. “Junior could join the team's training in the last week of September after finalising his rehab,” Abdel-Baki said. The Egyptian Premier League champions signed Junior from Portuguese side Naval in a 3-year deal worth $1.2 million last July.
