Shikabala's agent claims Tottenham interest The agent of Zamalek star Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala' claims Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing his client
Shikabala's agent claimed on Wednesday that English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing his client during the ongoing transfer window but Zamalek denied receiving any offer for the talented schemer. Samir Abdel-Tawab was quoted by Egyptian media as saying that Tottenham were lining up an offer for Shikabala, who has been consistently linked with a move away from Zamalek since he was involved in a dispute with the club's board over his new contract. However, Zamalek chairman Galal Ibrahim rubbished Abdel-Tawab's claims.“These reports only want to spoil the relationship between the player and the club,” he said. “We haven't received any offers for Shikabala yet,” the club's marketing manager Ashraf Sobhy added. Zamalek's assistant coach Ismail Youssef also said the club were not willing to offload their prized asset. Shikabala is an indispensible member of the squad of Zamalek, who are struggling to lure big-name players due to their persistent financial problems. In the summer of 2010, Zamalek turned down an offer from Belgian giants Anderlecht to acquire the services of the 25-year-old, whose only European spell came with Greek side PAOK from 2004 to 2006.
