Two police officers were killed while another two were injured after coming under fire from unknown assailants Tuesday at the crack of dawn in the Sinai city of El-Arish.
Eyewitnesses said a group of masked men in two medium-sized trucks had opened fire on the four policemen, who were deployed at a checkpoint.
Mohamed Hosni, 31, and Mohamed El-Kholi, 29,died in the attack while their colleagues Abdel Salam Hamed and Yehia Ibrahim were injured and taken to hospital.
