Egypt's central bank said it sold 4.975 billion Egyptian pounds ($835.88 million) in domestic treasury bills on Sunday, less than the 5.5 billion pounds it was seeking. The bank sold 2.5 billion pounds of 91-day T-bills at an average yield of 11.561 per cent, down from 11.616 per cent at last week's auction. It had offered 2 billion pounds. The bank also sold 2.475 billion pounds of 273-day T-bills, at an average yield of 12.865 per cent, up from 12.658 per cent at last issue on May 3. It had sought bills worth 3.5 billion pounds.
