Ahly defender Samir may miss Cairo derby

Ahly Spanish coach Garrido may have to do without defender Saad Samir in the anticipated Cairo derby against rivals Zamalek, scheduled for 29 January, due to injury.
"Samir, 25, will be sidelined for two weeks after he sustained a foot injury during Masry 1-1 draw on Saturday," Ahly doctor Khaled Mahmoud told reporters Wednesday.
The player has been shown his third yellow card so he was already out of Thursday's game against Tahta in Egypt Cup round of 32.
The CAF Confederation Cup winners are now in fourth place of the Egyptian Premier League teams' table in the current campaign with 28 points, 12 points behind leaders Zamalek but they have three games in hand.
The record holders of eight African Champions league trophies, are bidding for their 38th Egyptian Premier League title, 9th in a row.
