Egypt, Greece and Cyprus are to take part in a tripartite summit in Cairo on Saturday to discuss economic and commercial projects between the three countries, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported. Spokesperson for the Egyptian foreign ministry Badr Abdelatty told Al-Ahram Arabic website that the summit aims at strengthening cooperation between the three countries especially in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and energy. A different diplomatic source told Al-Ahram website that ministers from the three countries will also be discussing political issues that concern the region, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and also the situation in Syria and Iraq. The source added that the officials will be discussing the campaign to fight the militant group the Islamic State and terrorism in light of all terrorist attacks taking place in the Middle East and also in European countries. Speaking about Turkish relations, the diplomatic source said that there will not be common ground between the three countries concerning this issue.
