Sewe Sport coach optimistic ahead of Ahly's clash
Sewe Sport coach believes his side can win the Confederation Cup's title - despite their tough mission against continental giants Ahly
Published in Ahram Online on 08 - 10 - 2014

Sewe Sport's coach Rigo Gervais is optimistic over his side's chances against Ahly in the Confederation Cup final.
The Ivorian side – which reached the final at the expense of Leopards of Congo – will host Ahly in the first leg of the competition's final at the end of this month, with the second leg to be played a week later in Cairo.
"My players were in ecstasy after clinching a historic ticket to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup. There was lots of dancing and singing after the game and that atmosphere of joy is still very much alive at the camp," Gervais told Supersport.com on Wednesday.
Unknown to the public four years ago, Sewe Sport become Ivory Coast's number one football club after dethroning the country's top flights ASEC and Africa Sports.
Last year they made their first appearances in the Champions League group stage phase – but they failed to advance to the competition's semis and instead ended up at the bottom of their group.
"Last year, we reached the group phase of the CAF Champions League which helped my players acquire some experience and we're observing that they are improving with every match," he said.
Despite the club's financial difficulties, the Ivorian coach believes that the "courage" of his players will help the team against Ahly.
"We don't have money. We don't have sponsors. Some of our adversaries during the campaign travelled on three planes, but all we had and have been using is our courage and will to win. And we hope it will be the same at the final against the Egyptians Ahly."
