Egypt's Marwan Elshorbagy broke into the top 20 for the first time in his career while compatriot Amr Shabana climbed three places to move fifth in the PSA World Tour Rankings. Shabana made the biggest move inside the top 10 following some impressive results lately, including semi-final finishes at the Motor City Open, Case Swedish Open and El-Gouna International. Elshorbagy climbed to the 19th spot, a career-high position, after finishing as a runner-up at the Northern Ontario Open last month. “To be in the top 20 players in the world means a lot to me,” Elshorbagy, 20, was quoted as saying by the official website of the Professional Squash Association. “The current generation of players is one of the strongest that there has ever been in the history of squash so it feels great to be in the top 20 while they are still playing. “I have been working very hard for this and to achieve it at such a young age means even more and it will hopefully prove to be a big confidence boost, especially with the British Open coming up.” Mohamed Elshorbagy, Marwan's elder brother who lost to compatriot Ramy Ashour in the final of El-Gouna International last month, is Egypt's highest-ranked player as he lies third behind Englishman Nick Matthew and top-ranked Gregory Gaultier of France. The other Egyptians who are present in the top 20 are Ashour (4th), Karim Darwish (9th), Tarek Momen (11th), Omar Mosaad (13th) and Karim Abdel-Gawad (18th).
