CAIRO: Only a few problems were experienced on the second day of the Egyptian parliamentary elections, said Supreme Electoral Committee Chief Abdel Moez Ibrahim. There was a shortage of ballot boxes in certain polling stations, but this was immediately resolved, Ibrahim said. The results of the expatriate Egyptian vote will be announced Thursday evening, he added. “The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just received the voting envelopes.” Roughly 70 percent of eligible expatriate voters cast ballots in the elections, he said. “The Committee has not yet determined whether the voting time will be extended,” said SEC member Saleh Adel Salam. The vote counting will take place in clubs, parks and hotels, he added.
