CAIRO: Presidential hopeful Bothaina Kamel, a television presenter and the only woman to announce her candidacy for Egypt's next presidential elections, told Youm7 she is optimistic about the way elections are going in this first round. She said that the 'Shayfenkoom" or "We See You" campaign, of which she is a co-founder, has received complaints about unstamped ballot cards. She said that even in her own polling station this was the case. However, she added that there was high voter turnout in her polling station and that people are very alert and are monitoring the situation. Elections went well in Burg el-Gezira, said director Yousry Nasrallah. Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party tried to hand out stickers, but other voters stopped them. Nasrallah predicted that Egypt's ruling military council would limit the powers of the next parliament after SCAF member General Mamdouh Shahin said it would not have the power to change the government.
