Freedom House Organization for Human Rights expressed resentment of the violent attacks targeting the protestors in Tahrir Square, which led to the death of at least 30 people. The organization said in a statement using violence against the protestors proves Egypt's ruling military council failed to manage through the transitional stage peacefully. It called upon the military rulers to respond to the demands raised by the peaceful demonstrators to transfer power immediately to a national salvation government with full authority to manage transparent elections. Head of the Middle East and North Africa Program Charles Don demanded suspending what he described as terrible attacks against the demonstrators, which are disturbing and should end immediately. He added the military council should suspend the violent suppression against the protestors calling for democracy. He demanded the rulers to honor their commitment and supervise the peaceful transfer to democracy. The organization expressed skepticism over conducting free and fair elections during the current suppressing atmosphere dominating Egypt.
