MATROUH, Egypt: The Egyptian governorate of Masra Matrouh witnessed violent clashes, theft and fires as protestors attempted to storm the security directorate. Some protestors made use of demonstrations in Alexandria St. in the governorate of Matrouh in support of the protesters in Tahrir Square. The rioters sabotaged in the area around the directorate without interference from the security and military forces. Dozens of youth rioters threw stones at the military soldiers. Residents of Martouh and Sheikhs tried to stop the acts of sabotage and failed to convince the youth to stop. Security forces opened fire in the air and threw teargas at the protestors. The forces intensified their presence around the directorate and police stations. Six people were suffocated by the teargas and were admitted to the hospital, according to medical sources.
