CAIRO: The Egyptian people realize the importance of tourism and its role in supporting Egypt's economy, said Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour. He also said that the increasing touristic demand expresses the international support for Egypt's democratic change, human rights principles and the rule of law. Abdel Nour said Egypt's participation in the London Stock Exchange will pave the way for meeting with international officials of tourism, including ministers of tourism, international tourism organizations and international travel agencies and airlines, to know their current trends and fears. He said that the international reactions were positive towards the direction Egypt is moving, adding that the international community has expressed confidence that Egypt's tourism industry will witness notable improvement during 2012. Abdel Nour participated in a seminar organized by the World Tourism Organization (WTO) in cooperation with the Arab Tourism Market (ATM) discussing the future of tourism in the Middle East and the effect of the current regional developments on the sector
