Al-Masry Al-Youm Amr Wandeel, the head of preventative and endemic affairs at the Egyptian Ministry of Health today responded to the report published by Al-Masry Al-Youm on October 9 alleging that a prominent factory was producing carcinogenic luncheons. “The ministry held 17 inspection campaigns to the first branch of the factory before publishing the report,” Qandeel said. “The campaigns took 53 samples of the meat, 50 of which met the standards while three did not.” “The campaign also checked the second branch of the factory and took 56 samples, and only three samples did not meet the global standard.” The newspaper report also published that the factory used viscera and chicken bones in manufacturing Egyptian meat. Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that their samples were checked at labs at Cairo University. The results confirm that the samples contain carcinogenic fungi as a result of manufacturing defects. Al-Shorouq General Director of the Autopsy House Soad Abdul Ghaffar today said that she supervised the autopsy of Essam Ali Atta's body. “The body does not show signs or marks that are consistent with torture,” she said. “We did find pills inside the stomach and doctors suspect they are narcotic drugs.” Ghaffar also said that she asked Atta's father and uncle to attend the autopsy but they refused, claiming it would be too difficult to witness. She also said that 200 photos were taken both before and during the autopsy. Al-Gomhorreya The Al-Gomhorreya Center for Political Studies and Security Research held a seminar about Egypt's economic vision after the January 25 Revolution. Experts agreed that a solution to the economic crisis must be a top priority for the government. They also agreed that insecurity, theft, categorical demands and protests are the most dangerous threats to the Egyptian economy.
