Hours before the completion of the deal to exchange an Israeli-American accused of spying for Israel for 25 Egyptian detainees in Israeli prisons Thursday, a lawyer filed a lawsuit before the Administrative Court of the State Council to cancel the deal. Samir Mahmoud Zinedine filed the suit against the President of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Kamel Amr, and Attorney General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud to oblige them to call of the deal. He stressed that no one is entitled to release or trade Ilan Grapel, as this is a presidential right and there is no president. Zinedine said the deal is an insult to the people of Egypt, as the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit was exchanged for a much larger number of prisoners.
