Hundreds of policemen resumed their strike in front of Egypt's Ministry of Interior, demanding the dismissal of its minister Mansour al-Essawi and his assistants. They also demand cancelling the military trials of policemen, implementing succession planning and increasing their legal culture. Policemen strongly criticized members of the Policemen Coalition, accusing them of working to achieve their personal interests. They added the coalition is not authorized to represent them in negotiating with the ministry. One of the demonstrating policemen Ahmed Lotfy said they will resume their strike until there is a meeting and executing their demands through official ministerial decision. He accused officers of the dissolved State Security Authority of inciting the residents to submit complaints against them, while residents refused as they want to cleanse the ministry. Lotfy also criticized treating former Minister of Interior Habib al-Adly in the hospital of the Police Academy. Demonstrator Mohamed Refaat demanded the ministry to set a timetable to execute their demands to pave the way for restoring confidence between the ministry and its individuals. He also demanded the spokesman of the ministry to formally apologize for insulting the demonstrators. The demonstrators refused the participation of any political powers in the strike to keep the security of the ministry. They also refused talking with Egypt's Ministry of Interior Mansour al-Essawi conditioning to negotiate with the leader of Egypt's ruling military council Hussien Tantawi to dissolve their strike.
