Thousands of policemen protesting in front of the Ministry of Interior's headquarters began to set up tents and blankets Monday evening, declaring that they will hold an open ended sit-in until the implementation of their demands They are demanding the purge of the corrupt agents of former Minister Habib al-Adly, the abolition of military trials for policemen, the application of an incentive reward of 200% of base salary, and a transportation allowance. They also distributed a flyer to policemen across Egyptian governorates encouraging them to participate in the sit in. The flyer also demanded the dismissal of Minister of Interior Mansour el-Issawy. It also encouraged policeman to not believe state media coverage regarding Issawy and called for the return of former minister Mahmoud Wagdy. One ministry official tried to talk with demonstrators to discuss their demands. Protestors refused to talk to him, and forced him back into the ministry.
