Head of the supply commodities authority Noamany Nasr Noamany said Egypt imported 5.655 million tons of wheat from five American states during the year 2010-2011. Noamany said Egypt imported the largest amount from the U.S. and France succeeded by Australia, Canada and Argentina. He also said the imported shares from a certain country increases the shipment standard with Egyptian standards, beside the proper price offered in international tenders. It should be noted the American share is estimated at 40.85 percent of the imported wheat, France share at 40.32 percent, Australia at 7.16 percent. Whereas, the Canadian share is estimated at 6.37 percent and Argentinean share is estimated at 5.31 percent. It should be noted the Wheat importing season started three months ago and will continue for the next nine months and there will be no restrictions imposed on imports from a certain country.
