CAIRO: The Egyptian Cabinet will not consider the law on corruption political life again, according to Minister of Local Development Mohammed Atiya. The minister said the cabinet has discussed the law and transferred it to Egypt's ruling military council. Atiya said military council is the one who will approve and announce the law, but said it is difficult to predict when the law will be issued. Atiya also said delaying the law's decree does not mean it will be canceled. “If the law is issued after parliamentary elections, any member proven to have participated in corrupting political life will be excluded then,” he said. Atiya said the criminal court is responsible for firing those who are proven to have corrupted political life in Egypt. The Law can be applied on anyone who was working as an official, minister, member in Shura Council or People's Assembly or anyone who held a governmental post and deliberately harmed popular interests.
