Women have the right to be governors and this right is guaranteed in the constitution, according to Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mohammed Atiya. The security situation in Egypt is being studied before a new governor is chosen, Atiya told the evening talk show Al-Hayat Al-Youm last night. Atiya also said this week will see the main and final features of the governors' reshuffle. This will happen after consultations and discussions to meet the public interest, which is the citizens' interest. The size of the new reshuffle has not been decided due to the security reports arriving from different Egyptian governorates, said Atiya.
