CAIRO: Egyptian communities in France and Saudi Arabic have expressed their desire to help develop slums and build recycling facilities in Egypt's governorates. Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mohamed Atiya met with the delegations in Cairo on Monday. They also called to establish factories for recycling and produce compost and to pave the way for canceling contracts that various governorates have concluded with foreign companies. Atiya told Youm7 that the delegation of the Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia offered to contribute to developing slums. They expressed their desire to offer the necessary monetary resources as well as technical assistance. The Egyptian community in France, meanwhile, offered financial support to establish factories for recycling and producing compost, said Atiya. The minister added that he will hold meetings with members of the two communities to discuss ways of cooperation during the next stage. He said Egypt needs the “support of its sons” during the current stage. Arabic here.
