DAKAHLIA, Egypt: Mansura University students today ended their blockade of the Dean of Faculty for Veterinary and Arts, but it was a tragic end as the car exited quickly and ran over 15 university students. Students earlier were blocking a minibus secured for Al Saied Al Sherbeny, the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary, and Mohamed Ahmed Ghoneim, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts. They were preventing the Deans from voting in the elections and choosing the head of the university. Some protestors attempted to remove the deans from the car by force, but other students condemned the action, calling the assailants, “bullies.” The students surprised the driver who then drove toward them and had his windshield damaged. Many university students were injured in the incident and were transferred to the university medical center for treatment.
