Student protests against university administrators continued on Wednesday at public and private universities across Egypt. The students vowed to continue their demonstrations and sit-ins until university heads step down and comprehensive educational reform begins. At Cairo University, several professors and students of the College of Media gathered to demand the dismissal of Dean Sami Abdul Aziz. College of Sciences students also organized a demonstration during a college board meeting Tuesday to protest their dean's continued service. At Ain Shams University, students and teachers staged a sit-in in front of Saffron Palace to demand the departure of University President Dr. Maged al-Deeb. And in the Nile Delta region, Mansoura University students and professors in the College of Arts staged sit-ins for the third consecutive day demanding the dismissal of the college's dean. At Kafr al-Sheikh University, north of Cairo, students staged sit-ins demanding the dismissal of several deans and the vice president of the university. At the University of Manufiya in the Nile Delta, 60 students from the College of Physical Education staged a sit-in in front of the university president's office, demanding the dismissal of the college's dean and vice dean. At Al-Azhar University in Assiut in Upper Egypt, protesters halted classes by closing the main doors of the university's square for the sixth consecutive day and preventing faculty and students from entering.
