The Egyptian embassy in Saudi Arabia is expecting the Egyptian vision for expatriate voting for the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections, said Egyptian ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mohamed Aouf. Electronic voting is the best option, Aouf said, adding that it would be difficult to vote inside the Egyptian embassy or consulate in Riyadh because the Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia is so large. The ambassador also denied the rumor that the Egyptian embassy in Saudi Arabia will organize a meeting on October 27 to discuss the Egyptian community's demands for voting. A Facebook campaign is gathering Egyptian signatures to demand the right to vote for those in Saudi Arabia. The demands will be sent to the ambassador and the ruling military council. Those who signed onto the campaign also demanded a meeting to air grievances and demands on October 27 inside the embassy in Riyadh. Three stages of elections for parliament will be held in November, beginning on the 28 of the month. The new parliament will have six months to put a new constitution together before the presidential elections in 2012. The Saudi Kingdom expressed its great sorrow over the incidents recently at Maspiro. The Kingdom offered condonlences for the families of the victims at Maspiro, for the Egyptian government and military council, and urged the Egyptian people to exercise self-control to protect the country from chaos.
